I must applaud the Newton Township Supervisors for reaching out to their constituents via the web site they created and keep very up-to-date.  Township business and information can be read by any township resident who can access the Internet and residents can Email concerns or questions to the township supervisors.  This is welcome progress.  Well done.

In my moment of excitement over the quantum leap in communications made by the township supervisors (frankly, I thought they were stuck to the rotary phones forever), I forgot to give credit where it is due.

Specifically, a lot of thanks goes to Sal who put a lot of time and effort into making this Newton People's Site such a success.  Moreover, Sal took the time to scan in and post many public documents so they were available to residents in the comfort of their homes.  I think this site brought us a little closer together as a community and it will continue to serve as an forum for Newton residents to exchange ideas or to sound off.  

Finally, I'm sure that this site, in part, awakened the Township Supervisors to the power of the Internet and the advantages it has in communicating with the people who elected them.
