Screwed Again

Postby JoeP » Sat Apr 14, 2007 3:04 am

In case you haven't noticed, Commonwealth Telephone was been bought out by Citizens Communications late last year.  Now, it was just announced Citizens is not taking over, it is a company named Frontier.

Like cable scum, the first thing Frontier did was implement an unannounced rate increase.  My bill for basic service increased by $3.81 a month.

Based on the lack of responses over my comments on the cable rate increases, I doubt if Newton folks much care about these things.  And as long as we remain quite the Cable and Telco's will gladly continue to bleed us to death.

Time to dump Frontier and go with just all cell phone service.

Hi Joe,

I agree with you.  We are also being gouged with DSL. Somehow, they are able to keep competition out of our area so we end up paying higher prices.

I inquired about getting a cell pone a few times.  The problem I have is that I think that cell phones should be extendable like cordless phones.

For example, if you have a cordless phone in one part of your house, you can have another one in another part of the house.  One person can only use it at a time just like a land line.

My wife and I do not use the phone that often so why can’t we have two wireless phones with the same number.

My wife retired from Verizon but Carl still works there in the wireless department and they say it can be done. It is ridicules to have a phone number for every member in a household when one or two numbers could work the same as a landline or cordless phone.
