Hi Ryan,

I am glad to hear that your dog returned home.  We have a Samoyed and I guess it was your wife that stopped by yesterday when she saw our dog in the driveway.  They all look the same.  :D

Ours is almost 13 years old but can run as if he was half his age.  Our dog spent most of his time outside and rarely wanted to come in.  The cold weather does not bother them at all.

We started bringing him in more because of his age.  We let him in and out whenever he wants.  The funny thing is, the colder it gets, and the more he wants to be outside.  On the coldest nights this year with winds howling and show blowing he would want to go outside and sleep on the snow all night.

I guess what I am saying is that you do not have to worry if they get away and are in the elements.  They are built like polar bears.

Another Lost Dog

Postby JoeP » Sun Mar 11, 2007 3:17 pm

Losing your dog can be heart wrenching.  I'm glad this one had a happy ending.

About a month ago some fellow lost his beagle in the same vicinity.  He had stopped by and asked if I had seen it and I said no but I took his phone number.  He said he works at the Middle School.  I think this is the same person who had posted some missing dog signs along Forest Acres Drive.

Anyway, I sill have his name and # (Jack - cell # 840-7897) and I regret not thinking to post this sooner so more residents could be aware to be on the lookout.  As I recall it was a black and white beagle.

Despite the super frigid weather we had, I hope the lost beagle somehow survived the cold and hopefully is safe.

Sal, we were frantic. She knew your dog wasn't ours but she said she had to make sure. Fragile state of mind.  It was the first time in 2 years that he escaped.

I've driven past your dog for years now. He is a nice dog. He seems to be alot bigger than ours.

Now, he is afraid to even leave the deck. When he plays in the yard he stays close to the house. We think he probably got himself lost and was scared.

Thanks Guys,

Ryan
