TOWNSHIP PLANNING
COMMISSION MEETING March 31, 2004 Members Present-- Scott Haan, John Stemphoski, Karen Lilik, Jim Brown, Ron Koldjeski and Greg Raino In Attendance-- Francine Miller, Secretary Absent—Al Parsells Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance to Flag. General Meeting called to order.
Minutes: Stemphoski motioned to accept the minutes of the February 25, 2004 Meeting, 2nd by Brown. Motion voted, all in favor, Koldjeski and Raino abstained. Announcements: The Lackawanna County Regional Planning Commission has submitted a letter stating an increase in costs. New Business: Eckel Lot-Line Adjustment: Carlene Gallo, representing Helen Spenser, and Pat Lavelle with Doug Eckel came before the commission to discuss the issue of a lot-line adjustment that Judge Minora ordered. Motion by Koldjeski to forward the plans for the Eckel/Spenser Lot-Line adjustment to the Supervisors for approval as presented by Attorney Gallo and Attorney Lavelle, 2nd by Brown. Motion voted, all in favor. Cherry Ridge: The representatives Landview Properties came before the Commission to introduce themselves and show the Commission some very preliminary plans they have for a development on Newton Road. The property in question is located on Newton Road near the towers. Landview Properties will return when ready.
Skate Park: Lee Jamison and son came before the Commission to discuss the skate park proposal that Mr. Jamison has been discussing with the Supervisors. Motion by Koldjeski that the Planning Commission recommends a conditional use hearing and approval, 2nd by Raino. Motion voted, all in favor, Lilik abstained, however, does believe that it definitely requires a conditional use. Keogh Property: Roger Bennett of Beaver Pond Road and Richard Keogh came before the Commission to get advise on property Mr. Bennett would like to purchase. Mr. Keoghs father passed away recently and owned property next to Mr. Bennett’s. Mr. Bennett would like to purchase this land and have a lot-line adjustment. Unfinished BusinessWater Run-off Ordinance: Miller reminded the Commission that the Supervisors are looking for their recommendation concerning the sample ordinances on water run-off. Haan instructed the Commission to look at the samples by next months meeting. Public Input: Being no public input or further business, Koldjeski to adjourn, 2nd by Stemphoski.
