Republican Committee people candidates

Postby davidk » Fri Feb 24, 2006 8:46 pm

:D
Karen Lilik and I are running for Republican Committee people for Newton.
Anyone who is a registered Republican and is interested in signing our petitions can contact me at
politicalgadfly@aol.com
or 587 3429 please leave a message and the best time to get back to you.
I will stop at your home or wherever is convenient.
Petitions have to be in by March 7.

Also, Cathy Hardaway is running for State Rep. here in the 114.
She is a Republican and needs signatures for her petitions.
Anyone who is a registered Republican in the 114, which is currently held by Wansacz, can sign for her.
The above contact info applies for her also, though she needs signatures by March 2 as her requirements are different for a state office.

Cathy is of course a Newton resident and is currently president of the school board. She has done a wonderful job in that position, especially where the teachers contract was concerned.
On the other hand Wansacz took the pay raise that has been rescinded.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
David Kveragas

I also have a petition for Frank Scavo who is running against Bob "Get a Life" Mellow for State Senate in the 22 district.

Frank is the president of the Old Forge School Board.
He is a good man who I have supported and worked with in the past.

Some say these challengers are wasting tier time and your vote. Not true!
I know from experience every vote is analyzed, despite the results.
Every vote a challenger receives is a message to the incumbent.

Suzie,
Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you on your question.
Committee people basically are the drones of the party workers. We do the legwork such as getting pople absentee ballot applications, deliver yard signs, find candidates, cordinate the poll workers, etc.
We also choose who the party officials such as chairman, secretary, treasurere ect.

Frank Scavo is not going to appear on the ballot for the Republicans.
Instead at that point in the process there should be a banner stating the office and the keyboard for doing a write in.
At the very least the write in icon should appear and you can write in a name of an eligable person (not me I don't want to be a state senator)

Tonight I was elected as Chairman of the 114 Legislative District.
The seat was held by Lee Jamison who chose not to seek re-election.

If anyone has any questions or ideas about what and how the Republican Party should be handled here in the 114 (Wansacz's district) please let me know.
I will be seeking volunteers for the various candidates in November and if anyone needs yard signs, voter registration, absentee ballot applications, or anything else Republican related please feel free to contact me.
That applies not only to Newton but anywhere in the district.
If you know of anyone who has just moved into or even within the district please let me know so I can contact them to be sure they are registered at the new address. Many people forget to change their registration when they move. Also any students who may be away at college and need to have an absentee.
