The Missing Gas Station

Postby JoeP » Wed May 05, 2004 2:07 am

Remember the little gas station that was located at the junction (triangle) where Morgan Highway meets Winola Road - not to far from the Clarks Summit State Hospital?  I believe it was just outside of the Newton Township boundary.

Anyway, it was torn down a few years back when new regulations went into effect requiring improved underground storage tanks.  A new storage tank appeared on the lot for awhile and that too disappeared.

My question, does anyone know if they are going to replace this gas station?  It was convenient not only for gas, but for milk, bread, a newspaper, etc.  I miss it.

Thanks. :)

i heard that the gas station at the point also had troubles with the law, because they frequently sold tobacco to minors. i hope they bring it back, but with the new Sheets thats not likely.
