anyone else here notice a rather large influx of people moving into the newton area in the past few years? my road especially, cherry hill road, has grown up quite a lot since just 4 or 5 years ago. i cant stop progress but jeez, i liked newton being a little more quiet and a lot less yuppie.

If you tink it's bad now wait till the trains come from NY.
I tried warning the then supervisors years ago about preparing for the influx but they wouldn't listen.
I live on 800 acres on top of the mountain so I don't have the worries some do, but the time is now for everyone else to make preperations

There is a new development in the planning stages for Newton Road, just past the bend at Cummings Pond as you head towards Scranton. It's on the left as you head down.
It is going to be approximately 40 homes on various size lots.
I feel there is a bunch more coming.
We can't stop them but at least we have reasonable plans in place.
Unlike many communities we have taken steps to handle things like adult entertainment, etc.
