The regular township meeting was held tonight.
There was a resignation of a Suprevisor on August 31. T J Kerrigan resigned his seat citing personal reasons. His seat is now open pending the appointment of a qualified candidate by the remaining board members.
A special meeting has been set for September 27 at 7:30 pm to make the new appointment.
Any township resident over the age of 18 who has lived in the township for the last full year and is a registered voter is eligable.
The Supervisors have asked that anyone interested contact the secretary and send a brief letter to that effect along with why they want to be a supervisor.
The road paving bids were let tonight. The following roads are to be paved:
Sections of Bald Mountain especially where the holes are currently.
Upper Maple from where the blacktop is currently to the intersection with Orchard.
Orchard Drive.
The bids were awarded to Pennsy/Slusser Brothers for a total of approximately $210,000.
The tar and chipping project was begun today and is expected to be finished tomorrow. Reports are that the work is well done.
The matter concerning money owed to the Rec Center has been settled. The approximately $21,000 will be given to the center under the condition that it be used only for capital improvements and with board approval.
The money will be budgeted for next year and will then be placed in a money market fund or other preferable account.
There will be a Zoning Hearing Board meeting tomorrow night concerning the Milwaukee Cycle shop. The hearing is at 7:00 pm.
