Townhip wage tax form typo IMPORTANT

There is a mistake on the wage tax forms mailed out by Newton Township.
The form requiers a remitance of 1% which should be only .5%.
In the past we paid the 1% figure which was then divided by the township and the Abington Heights School District.
However, the SD has since consolidated it's wage tax collectors into one office, which is based in South Abington. Thus we are receiving two seperate wage tax forms.

Please be sure to spread the word about the typo, as I am sure many will not catch it, especially those who use a professional preparer.

If you have any questions please call the township office @ 587 1520.
Calling the number on the township form sends you to a machine that essentially tells you to call the above number anyway.

If you have not received a AHSB wage tax form call the South Abington office @ 586 2111

Thanks for the heads up Dave - I just threw all the forms I have been getting into a pile and may not have noticed it when I did our taxes.

You know, the tax collection system worked very well when Bonnie and Ruth handled them.  You got to wonder why they had to fix something that wasn't broke.

The tax collector they use now is appointed - correct?  I thought this was an electable position.  Cronyism?

Anyway, there is nothing posted on the Newton Township site about this and I would think this would be something they would want to alert the residents about.

Thanks again Dave - glad you are on top of things.
