8/9 township meeting

Postby davidk » Tue Aug 10, 2004 8:23 am

The supervisors held their monthly meeting on Aug. 9 and it was one of the fastest meetings I have ever attended.
There were only three supervisors in attendance, Shaffer and Kerrigan were absent.
Besides the basics on the agenda, which is mostly committee reports there was little other business.
There is a plan to start oiling and chipping some roads in the township in order to extend their lifespans.
At a cost of under ten thousand dollars a mile the roads can have their life expecetancy extended several years. New or replacement paving runs ten times as much at a minimum.
There will be a special meeting at 6:30 on the 26th to pass an ordinance concerning the new cable contract as well as the signing of the new agreement.
A zoning hearing is scheduled for September 14 dealing with the Milwaukee Cycle Shop conditional use.
This meeting was attended by only myself and another resident. Two other residents were in briefly to pick up forms for a building permit.
There was no public imput.

Thanks Dave.....

Re the special meeting on the 26th - will the residents be able to see the proposed cable contract/agreement before hand and/or offer input?  I'm  afraid the supervisors might give away the farm to Adelphia, like they did with Waste Management, when they should be representing the best interests of their residents.

CABLE DEAL

Postby WCJR » Thu Aug 19, 2004 1:37 pm

HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!  THE SIX WISE MEN ARE MIRRORING THEIR ACTIONS OF THE GARBAGE (IT STINKS) CONTRACT.  EVERYTHING IS DONE BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.
IS THIS ONE OF THE KIND OF SIDE DEALS THAT SAL HAS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED.
I ASKED FOR A COPY OF THE EXEMPTION LIST FOR TRASH PICKUP AND WAS TOLD NO SUCH LIST EXISTS!!!  HOW DO THEY KEEP TRACK WITH A WEEGEE BOARD.
SINCE WE HAVE A FULL TIME SECRETARY WHY DOESNT THE TWP DEVELOP A WEBSITE AND PROVIDE THE PULIC ACCESS TO TWP MEETING MINUTES, CODES AND ORDINANCES ON LINE. THEN WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT A WEEK OR MORE TO PICK UP A COPY.
WHY ALL THE SECRECY IN NEWTON!
