We have some free kittens.  They were born Nov 21st and are all cuties.

I hope you or whomever takes them will have they spayed and neutered ASAP.
Here we are overrun with cats from neigbors. We have as many as possible fixed. Here in the office alone I have four and there are 7 more in the feedroom. Many more about the property. If their ancestors were fixed there wouldn't be a problem.

A few days before Christmas I was walking our dog on Beaver Pond Road when out of the woods pops this tiny gold tabby kitten, very cold, very hungry but very friendly.  There were no houses nearby and I looked in the nearby woods for the mother or other kittens, then and subsequently later on.  None where to be found.  I took the little guy home and we fed it and made it a bed.  Since we had a cat already, it found the litter box although it seemed to young to be litter trained.

I went back down Beaver Pond and asked all the residents (4) along that 1/2 mile stretch if anyone lost a kitten - none did but some said people have dumped kittens off here before.  After a few days my son found a nice loving home for the kitten.  We would have loved to have kept it but our 9 year old  (neutered) cat was having quite a jealousy problem with the new arrival.

Hi JoeP,  Yes the some of those older established cats do have a little 'hissy' fit when they see a new arrival in 'their' house.  I had one of the kittens in the house to try to feed it some cat food, because 'mommy' cat had stopped producing milk.  It was the runt of the litter and wasn't quite up to hard cat food.  And our 12 year old house cat had a little 'hissy' fit herself at this little tiny kitten.    :lol:   Sometimes they become the kings and queens of the house.    :roll:  I am glad you found a home for the little kitten!!!!

Well, All the kittens have found good homes!!!       I can't help but wonder if the system that is meant to insure that pet shop and adoption agency cats and kittens (and dogs) might be deterring some animals from being placed in good homes.  The last two kittens were taken by a couple and their young daughter.  You could tell that both parents and the daughter loved cats by the way they handled the kittens.  They had promised their daughter a kitten, but said they had been to several pet stores and felt that there were too many steps to go through to get one through those channels.  Both my husband and I have talked about getting another dog to keep our dog company.  Yet, my husband doesn't want to be bothered by the red tape that involves going to the Humane Society.  Some people will go through these steps.  I talked to a fellow coworker whose wife and him adopted two dogs from a rescue group. They have had the dogs for almost a year.  They also have three house cats that are not allowed outside.  Even though the the house cats are not allowed outside, according to the agreement with the rescue group, they must keep all three cats up to date on their shots in order to keep the dogs.  He was hoping that maybe a little overtime would come his way to help pay for the vet visit.     When we put an ad in the paper for free kittens, they are usually gone within one day and many of  people who take them are thanking us for them and don't seem to believe that they are really for free.  And we always have really nice people come for the kittens.
