Driveway Thefts in Township

There have been a series of recent thefts from cars parked in their driveways on Valley View Drive, near Beaver Pond Road.

I am aware of 3 cars being entered and items stolen, as recent as Friday night.  One car had its windshield smashed.  All were parked in their driveway next to the house and the thefts all occurred very late at night.

My son who works at Stanges had said he has heard of other cars being broken into late at night, so it is possible this is not isolated to one area of Newton.

Best to lock your car, and remove all valuables.  

On a similar vein, one resident observed a young man going from house to house asking for a ride home because his bike was broken.  The resident was suspicious and feared after they left their house, an accomplice would enter.

Can't be too careful, even in Newton.

young punks... last summer somebody stole a neighbors hot-pink flamingo lawn ornament. not a huge loss, but its the principle behind these things.

atleast they stopped smashing mailboxes, that used  to happen to mine like every other week until we chased them from my house to the bottom of morgen hiway.

and M2 pink flamingos are a valuable loss you never see them around anymore.
