Legal description of Newton boundaries

I have been trying to get a copy of the legal description for Newton township. Not a map as I have several and they all differ, but the actual legal meets and bounds of the township.
I have tried the courthouses and even the state archives to no avail.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
After all this is a township we are talking about. The legal description has to be recorded somewhere!
The code book mentions that there are permanent markers placed in the ground but without a starting point and idea of direction they are worthless, even if you find one or even two.
